PROOFRESDING OF READY TRANSLATIONS
Editing is defined as the process of analysis, check and correction of a text.
Editing of translation is checking a translation by comparing it with the original document and correcting errors and inconsistencies. Qualified specialists in the relevant area are engaged for editing a specific translated document. An editor has special background and experience in the area, and is proficient in a native language and foreign languages.
Proofreading includes correcting grammar and lexical errors, stylistic weaknesses and inconsistencies, mistakes in translation of words and terminology, as well as finding and adding missing segments in the translation.
If some modifications have been made in a translated text, there is no need to translate the whole document again. An editor will make relevant changes that will allow you to save time and money. The price for editing is much lower.
If you translated a document yourself and are not sure in its correctness, you may apply to us and our editors will help you to correct errors and improve the quality of translation.
But, let’s suppose, we received poor quality machine translated text (performed by a computer program), this order will be considered as translation, rather than editing.
It is common practice to engage a native speaker editor in editing with the purpose to correct stylistic weaknesses and ensure readability of the text for native speakers. Editing by a native speaker is usually provided for the texts relating to humanitarian issues that do not contain many special terms.
